Our principles Fit check Coaching map The process Start a conversation

Business coaching built on five non-negotiable principles

Most coaching engagements fail because they start with tactics. We start with beliefs. Every recommendation we make, every question we ask, flows from a set of principles we refuse to compromise. If these resonate, we should talk. If they don't, we're probably not the right fit.

We work with founders, leadership pairs, and small teams across Quebec and the rest of Canada. The engagements last between six and eighteen months. No retainer padding, no vague check-ins.

"After nine months with this team, our gross margin went from 31% to 44%. The principles they taught us still guide every quarterly plan."

The five principles we coach by

01

Revenue is a symptom, not a goal

Chasing revenue targets without fixing the system that produces revenue is like treating a fever with ice. We focus on the operating model first. Revenue follows when the model works.

02

Decisions decay faster than you think

A good decision made in January can become a liability by June. We install review cadences that catch stale assumptions before they cost you money.

03

Clarity beats motivation

Motivation fades. A clear operating picture does not. We build dashboards, decision trees, and weekly scorecards that replace gut feeling with observable data.

04

Your team already knows the problem

In almost every engagement, the frontline team can name the bottleneck within ten minutes. The coaching work is creating a structure where that knowledge reaches the people who can act on it.

05

Exit the coaching

We design every engagement to end. If you still need us after eighteen months, something went wrong. Our job is to build internal capacity, not dependence.

These principles shape every session, every framework, every recommendation.

Is this coaching right for you?

We turn down about a third of inquiries. Not because those businesses are bad, but because the timing or context isn't right. Here's how to tell.

Good fit

You have revenue but feel stuck at the same ceiling

Your business earns between $400K and $8M annually, but growth has plateaued for two or more consecutive quarters. You suspect the issue is structural.

Good fit

You recently promoted someone into a leadership role

New leaders need frameworks, not just encouragement. We help them build decision habits in the first 90 days so they don't revert to individual-contributor patterns.

Probably not yet

You launched less than a year ago

Very early-stage businesses need market feedback, not operating-model coaching. Come back when you have at least twelve months of revenue data to analyse.

Good fit

Your leadership team disagrees on priorities

Misalignment at the top cascades into every department. We facilitate structured priority-setting sessions that produce a single written plan everyone signs off on.

Probably not yet

You want a motivational speaker

We don't do keynotes or hype sessions. The work is analytical, sometimes uncomfortable, and always focused on measurable change.

Good fit

You're preparing for a major transition

Selling, merging, or handing the business to the next generation. Each scenario demands a different operating posture, and we've coached through all three.

"The fit-check conversation alone saved us from a six-figure mistake. We restructured our sales team before signing the coaching contract."

Coaching map: what we work on and when

Not every engagement covers every area. During the diagnostic phase, we identify which two or three domains will move the needle fastest. Here's the full map.

Domain
Months 1-3
Months 4-9
Months 10-18
Operating model
Map current workflows, identify the three biggest friction points
Redesign handoffs between teams, install weekly review cadence
Audit improvements, hand off scorecard ownership to internal lead
Financial clarity
Build a single-page P&L dashboard the founder actually reads
Set margin targets per service line, track weekly
Transition financial review to CFO or controller
Leadership capacity
Assess each leader's decision-making habits via structured interviews
Introduce delegation frameworks and accountability pairs
Reduce coaching touchpoints to monthly, then quarterly
Sales system
Audit pipeline stages, close-rate data, and lead-source ROI
Standardise qualification criteria, shorten sales cycle
Train sales manager to run pipeline review independently

A note on how we actually spend our time

Roughly 40% of coaching hours are spent in one-on-one sessions with the founder or CEO. Another 30% goes to facilitated team sessions where we work through a specific operational problem in real time. The remaining 30% is analysis: reviewing financials, reading internal reports, and preparing frameworks for the next session.

We don't assign homework for the sake of it. When we ask you to track something between sessions, there's a specific decision that data will inform. If the data doesn't change the decision, we drop the tracking.

Sessions happen weekly for the first three months, then shift to biweekly. By month ten, most clients meet with us once a month. That taper is intentional. It means the internal systems are working.

Typical session topics

  • Quarterly priority alignment
  • Pricing model stress-test
  • Hiring decision framework
  • Delegation audit for founders
  • Customer retention root-cause analysis
  • Cash-flow scenario planning

How a typical engagement unfolds

Week 1-2: Diagnostic deep-dive

We interview the founder, two to four team members, and review twelve months of financial data. The output is a written diagnostic memo that names the top three constraints.

Week 3-4: Framework installation

Based on the diagnostic, we introduce the first operating framework. This could be a weekly scorecard, a delegation matrix, or a revised meeting rhythm. We test it live in the next team session.

Avg. time to first measurable change: 26 days

Months 2-5: Iteration cycles

Every two weeks, we review what's working and what isn't. Frameworks get adjusted. New ones get introduced only when the previous one is stable. We never stack changes faster than the team can absorb.

Months 6-9: Ownership transfer

The founder or a designated internal leader starts running the review cadence. We observe, intervene less, and document the playbook they'll use after we leave.

82% of clients run reviews independently by month 8

Months 10-18: Taper and close

Monthly check-ins replace weekly sessions. We address new challenges as they arise, but the core operating system is self-sustaining. The engagement ends with a written retrospective and a 90-day forward plan.
